Jumping In

After Eli conquered the pool, he moved to jumping (OK maybe just stepping) in from the edge. You can see the progression here...

Here he is the next day ready to go again!!

Eli & MawMaw AND PawPaw

MawMaw and PawPaw did lots together with Eli, walking on the beach, swimming in the pool, playing in the sand, and their favorite... taking Eli in the ocean.

Every once and a while, we even got a serious picture of the 3 of them. :)

Dinner Anyone? Everyone?

When we go out to dinner when we are in Florida, it is a big deal. This year, the smallest number we went out with was 13. Most places do a great job of make it possible for us all to sit together. This is one time we couldn't.

At one point this week we had as many as 22. Dad's actually waving in the mirror. :)

It makes for some good dinner conversations!!

Eli and PawPaw

You knew we couldn't have a blog entry of Eli and MawMaw pictures without a blog entry of pictures of Eli and PawPaw!! :)

The View

This is the view from our Hotel. :)

We had the most rain this year we've ever had, but it did bring some pretty cool clouds.

This is looking at the beach from the famous "Fort Meyer's Pier"

Postponed...

I've tried for about 3 days now to upload pictures. I tried to upload them 5 at a time, then 4, then... you get the point. I can't even upload one picture without it taking about 10 minutes and often it says it "times out"
So needless to say the spring break blog posting is postponed. I promise that when we get back I'll post TONS of our pictures with the stories to go with them...I already have a list of pictures started.
Thanks for being patient!!

Words of the Day Part 2

Here are Grandma and Eli on their walk where they pick out their Words of the Day.

Day 5:

Horse Shoe Crab

Day 6:

Seaweed

Day 7:

Tiki Hut

Day 8:

Amber
This is the "doggy" they saw EVERYDAY on their walk. The owners were wonderful people and let Eli pet her each day... he was in heaven!!

Change It Up... A Bit

We pretty much do the same thing everyday down here and you've seen it. So... instead of doing a day by day descriptions, now I'm going to post by topics. To come are:
PawPaw & Eli
Grandma & Eli
Tigulis Family
The View (not the show... the actual view from our hotel)
Dinners Out
But again, you have to bear with me, the internet here is HORRIBLE... it's slower than Uncle Andy's :)

Words of the Day

In my classroom each day I have a different word of the day. They each have to do with a topic we are going to study. Grandma and Eli have a word of the day here in Florida. They decide what the word will be based on what they see on their walk. We keep trying to tell mom to choose words like birdy, fishey, but she says he needs to know the fancy words. As they keep learning new words, I'll keep sharing them with you all.

Day 1:

Pelican
Day 2:
Crane

Day 3:

Dolphin

Day 4:

Minnow
We'll have to wait and see what is to come...

Day 4: More of the Same

By now we've created a schedule and we pretty much stick to it. :) It did rain today a couple different times, so that put a bit of a cramp on the schedule, but we got it figured out. Not really any new pictures, but here are some more from the last few days. Enjoy!! Sorry there is only 1 I'm FIGHTING with the internet here... and it's winning!! :(

Day 3: Conquering the Ocean

Since we've conquered the pool, the beach, next the ocean!! We used baby steps... literally :)

Then as we get out farther, we need some PawPaw support.

Then we convinced Trey to come out too... they had each other for support. I LOVE this picture!!

Then he got brave and went deeper...

After these little baby steps, he was good to go. He would start where the water met the sand and then with the help of PawPaw and Grandma he'd wade on out into the ocean.

Trey's Grandma and Grandpa were out floating on "skin boards" so they let Eli hop on for a ride.

Next it was time for Mommy and Daddy to play with Eli in the ocean.

That night for dinner we went out to Charlie's Boat House for the Early Bird Special (yes, it was us and all the old people) The food was YUMMY. Since we went to eat early, we had plenty of time to get back to watch the sunset. Those pictures will be on later this week. :) While we were waiting for the sun to set, Eli and Trey played.

Baby Troy was fussing, so Nico came to the rescue. Plus it was good for Nico (and me too) to be reminded of it was like to have a baby baby (4 week old) around. It was too darn cute!! :)

We ended the night with an intense game of dominos (the early bird special rubbed off on us and we were like old people playing dominos) Nico won so he's pumped that it's a sign that UCLA's going to win the Big Dance.
