Fun Fall Day

Friday we had an inservice day at school, so no kids, so no volleyball practice. So... for the first time EVER I got to pick Eli up from the babysitter. I was so excited!! When I got there most everyone was still napping, except Eli, of course, which unfortunately was a trend this week. (we're working on that :)

He had had a rough day.... While standing up, he let go (which is one of his new favorite things to do) but he can only stand for a few seconds before falling, which he did face first right on the area that connects the tile to the carpet. His upper gums bled and his teeth knocked the area below his lower lip, so he's got a few marks... the first of many I'm sure. He cried for a few minutes, but then went back to playing... daddy was pretty happy he "took it like a man"

So when we got home, we went outside to play. It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day. He LOVED being out in the wind and sun.

Eventually he explored off the blanket and into the grass. It was hilarious to see his expressions in the grass. He must of thought it needed cut, so he tried to help daddy out.

It was so nice to be home early enough to play with him before dinner... for that part alone, I can't wait for volleyball to be over. But we will have plenty of days like that soon!! Can't wait!!

Back to Daddy's Old Stomping Grounds

Last night, Carroll HS played Homestead at Homestead. We were hoping the Chargers would play a GREAT game. It was good for a while... at the end of the 1st quarter it was 7-7, but then it went downhill. They ended up losing 33-7. Uncle Andy and Aunt Andrea came, along with Mike, Denise, and Molly Hunsche. It was really weird for them, since they all went to school there. They were sharing high school stories all night. It was a fun night... to bad the Chargers couldn't pull out a victory... maybe next week. :) :)

9 Months Old

Well, I should have written this last Monday, but with school and volleyball... that didn't happen. Eli was 9 months old on Monday. On the way to the babysitters, him and I had a talk about how life is SO different now then it was 9 months ago. 9 months ago at that time (7:00 am) they were just giving me more petosin and my contractions were getting stronger and they were giving me my epidural... which I reminded him didn't work and I felt every bit of his birth... boy do I love him!! :) :)

On Wednesday, Nico took him to his 9 month doctor's appointment. Dr. Mark was surprise to see Nico there, usually it's me, but it worked out better with our schedule for him to take him. Nico was dreading him getting shots, but I told him, it was time he had to experience it, instead of it always being me watching him get stuck!! :(

He got a clean bill of health. He weights 17 lbs... only in the 5th percentile of weight, but the doctor doesn't seem to be worried. He's in the 55% percentile of height... how did our child get to be tall and skinny???? Dr. Mark says he's doing all the things he's supposed to be and just to keep up the good work!! We LOVE Dr. Mark!!

These 9 months have gone so fast, before we blink he'll be a year... CRAZY!!

Homecoming

Tonight was Carroll's Homecoming Game against Bellmont. The whole family came out to support Nico and the Chargers. We were hoping this would be a victory for the Chargers. At half time it was tied 14-14. Bellmont then scored and kicked a field goal in the middle of the 3rd quarter making it 24-14. With 2 minutes left in the game, Carroll finally drove the ball down the field and scored making it 21-24. We on-side kicked the ball and recovered it at about mid-field. So with 30 seconds left we needed to get down the field for at least a field goal. We were moving the ball pretty well, but with 10 seconds left, we threw a long pass that was intercepted.
Game Over.
Nico got to come over and say hi to all of us, but it was a tough loss. The only good part of the night were the fun pictures with everyone!

Relaxing Weekend

Thought we'd take a time out from the wedding weekend to update you on this weekend!!! :) Saturday morning, Eli and I went to see Nico at the CHS reserve football game. He was wearing the outfit you see below, which I love since it's got orange in it. But you know football fans... we were asked constantly if he was a Cleveland Browns fan.

The GREAT part about the weekend was that once we got home, we had NOTHING to do for the rest of the day. It was WONDERFUL!!! We both got to spend some quality time with Eli. Here's some pictures from that afternoon.

Then on Sunday we went with music teacher from Nico's school and his wife, Jason & Amy Slone to Johnny Appleseed Festival.

Believe it or not, it was the first time I had ever been there and Nico hadn't been in a long time. The weather was BEAUTIFUL!! We just walked around and took it all in. Eli was in heaven just people watching. We got some carmel corn and a carmel apple. We also looked at all the crafts and antiques. It was a good time. Then we went back to Slone's house and had dinner together. Eli and their dog, Maverick (that was our dog's name when I was growing up... crazy) had a good time. Eli just laughed any time Maverick came near.

It was a VERY RELAXING weekend!!!

Going Out

After dinner, the wedding party and friends all headed to an Irish pub downtown close to Buca's. It was just a time to hang out and socialize before the BIG DAY!! We took lots of pictures while we were out... here are a few. Enjoy!!

Wedding Rehearsal

We all arrived at the church at 5:00 for the wedding rehearsal. Grandma and Pawpaw came with us, so they could watch Eli when Nico and I were up front practicing.

The church was BEAUTIFUL. It had such an open feel to it. We were very excited to meet the pastor that was marrying Andy and Andrea. We had heard great things about her, so we couldn't wait. Pastor Carol was AWESOME!!! You could tell that she had really spent time getting to know Andy and Andrea. She not only had a good relationship with them, but with the entire wedding party. She was a lot of fun!!

We started the rehearsal by standing where we would end up. Then Andy and Andrea practiced their parts. To wrap it up, we practiced walking in and out. Between Pastor Carol and the church's wedding coordinator, we were officially "rehearsed."

For the dinner, we went to Buco di Beppo's in downtown Indy. It was WONDERFUL food!! We had salad, pizza, and LOTS of pasta. To top it off we had tiramisu for desert.

Even better than the food was the togetherness. We got to spend a good 2 hours together with friends and family just talking, laughing, and having a GREAT time.

Eli even stayed up until 9:30... he had fun getting his picture taken by the bridesmaids!! :) He even got to hang out Uncle Andy and Aunt Andrea for a little bit!!

Andy and Andrea both thanked everyone for their support and love. I'm sure it was an OVERWHELMING feeling knowing that everyone in that room loved them completely and forever and were just so excited for them to be husband and wife.

Big Weekend...

This past weekend was Andy and Andrea's wedding.!!! :) :)
The wedding was at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

The reception was at the Indiana State Museum right on the canal in downtown Indy.

It was WONDERFUL weekend...filled with lots to do, little sleep, but absolutely wonderful!! As we get pictures downloaded from our camera and others, we'll be posting LOTS of blogs about the weekend.

Vietnam War Memorial

The weekend of August 11th a smaller replica of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall came to Fort Wayne.

Eli and I went with Paw Paw, Grandma, Uncle Kenny, Aunt Amanda, Cora and Keenan to see it. I really was an amazing experience. I have never seen the one in Washington D.C. and now look forward to one day seeing it in person. Both mom and dad found the names of people that they had gone to high school with on the wall.

I really made you stop and think about all that people in the military (from the past to those that are overseas right now) have sacrificed for not only our freedom, but for those all over the world.

Long time no post...

Sorry, it's been such a long time with no post... life is CRAZY in the Tigulis household. The good news is that we are pretty much in a routine, so the mornings aren't such a chore. I'm hoping this weekend we can get some good pictures of Eli to post. Also this weekend, I'll post some photos from the past 2 weeks or so that I haven't had time to do. Enjoy!!
